WinTango Patcher
NOTE: This is for Windows 7/8.1/10 (x86/x64)! It has been successfully tested by myself in a VirtualBox and on my own Computer(s).
If you find any bugs or problems please report them to me.

The WinTango Patcher is a mostly self-explanatory graphical wizard designed to make simple the process of modifying your system files with resources developed by the Gnome-Colors Project, which is mostly inspired/based on Tango, GNOME, Elementary, Tango-Generator and many other open-source projects. It currently includes implementations of the basic Gnome icon set and the Gnome-Colors icon sets, rounded out with various pieces of artwork created by myself and others. Additionally, it includes a Reloader module to re-modify your files if they are overwritten, allowing system updates to be performed without breaking the theme.

Before applying the Patcher the first time, make sure your system is up to date. This reduces errors and the need for the reloader to re-patch your files.

- Update: elementary icon theme
- Update: Gnome/Adwaita icon theme
- Update: AIMP3 Icons
- Update: Mozilla Firefox / Thunderbird Theme compatibility Updates. Also uploaded to Mozilla Addons due to the need of AddOns to be signed and for easier updating. Signed files are inclued.
- Fix: Updater will now simply download the latest Offline-Installer from GitHub. No more updating of parts due to bandwith limitations of Dropbox.
- Fix: Error during extraction of resources on x86 OS.
- Update: Improved Errorlogging.
- Update: Notepad2 EN/DE

Ah, you're making it for Win8? Good news. I myself haven't moved from Win7 yet, the lack of gnome icons being one of the reasons. May I try it out in a VM, maybe?

sure try it in a VM. the download link for the patcher already provides a version for Win8...

Hi great work!
I have used your pack for months and it remains stable. Nothing wrong with my system! Thank you!
but I wonder if you have plan to develop tango-style icon for Microsoft office (ppt, word and excel)?

sorry I'm not working on tango Office icons..

I do not think it would be possible to do this. And MS office is huge. There is a pack for Open Office but the icon compatibility is questionable

Hey great work, but when I tried to uninstall the se7en patcher, I got the gnome icons back instead of the windows icons. It's currently uninstalled and I have gnome icons, after restart and everything. Is there any way to fix this or am I stuck with these forever?
heebijeebi Featured By Owner Dec 16, 2011
damn this shouldn't happen..

you have to run the commandline and execute the following command to restore the system files

SFC /scannow

afterwards you should run the windows update to ensure that everything is up to date.

By the way, one suggestion: It'd be nice to be able to what gets patched after installation. Sometimes people find out about foobar2000 after the patcher for example. Or maybe they just change their minds.

sorry there seems a verb missing. is it "change"? ;)
