WinTango Patcher by heebijeebi WinTango Patcher by heebijeebi
NOTE: This is for Windows 7/8.1/10 (x86/x64)! It has been successfully tested by myself in a VirtualBox and on my own Computer(s).
If you find any bugs or problems please report them to me.

The WinTango Patcher is a mostly self-explanatory graphical wizard designed to make simple the process of modifying your system files with resources developed by the Gnome-Colors Project, which is mostly inspired/based on Tango, GNOME, Elementary, Tango-Generator and many other open-source projects. It currently includes implementations of the basic Gnome icon set and the Gnome-Colors icon sets, rounded out with various pieces of artwork created by myself and others. Additionally, it includes a Reloader module to re-modify your files if they are overwritten, allowing system updates to be performed without breaking the theme.

Changelog:

15.08.19:
- New: Official Windows 10 x86/x64 RTM Support
- Fix: The Windows Store crashes on Windows 10 RTM
- Fix/New: VirtualBox 4/5 fails to launch VirtualMachines when using UltraUXThemePatcher, but works fine when UXTheme Multi-Patcher is used instead. Therefore you can now choose between those two options.
- New:  Option  to  install  the  Tool  “Desktops”  from  Sysinternals to give Windows
7 Users support for up to 4 virtual Desktops
- Fix: Minor Reloader Bugs
- Update: UltraUXThemePatcher v2.5.12
- New: Firefox Addon with further customizations of the icons/images for the about:home page and the Firefox PDF viewer (PDF.js)
- Update: Elementary Icon Theme to v3.2.1
- Fix: Firefox / Thunderbird Themes

I think I found the "bad guy". You have to disable "DDOres.dll", then the Store should work again. The Next version will do that automatically.

Thanks for the Bugreport!!

can you please post the "patcher.log" in "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinTango Patcher\"?

There's no patcher.log file.
I believe that it doesn't exist because the patcher doesn't initiate.

Sorry, I don't think you understood what I meant..
Current patcher isn't working but the old one does.

edit:
I think it may just be my computer though..
I've tested the current patcher on another laptop and it works fine.

Ok, I understand now.

One question though: Do you have Net Framework 3+ installed? On the PC it fails to run.

Thanks for maintaining this patcher.  Clap   I seem to have a constant reloading problem with Opera.  According to the Opera.exe.log the commands were completed, yet the issue remains.  I'm just going remove the script for Opera but I wanted to pass this along, I think the script may be faulty.

Edit - I'm going to uninstall and reinstall to try and clear the issue.

have you tried to uncheck "System: Volume Mixer (sndvol.exe)"?

make sure that you uninstall the patcher first to ensure that all files are back to the originals.

Hi Heebijeebi,
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware detected Trojan.Agent.AIS in some WinTango Patcher's own files.
Please look:

Registry Keys: 1
Trojan.Agent.AIS, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\UNINSTALL\WinTango Patcher

Files: 2
Trojan.Agent.AIS, C:\Program Files (x86)\WinTango Patcher\Patcher.exe
Trojan.Agent.AIS, C:\Program Files (x86)\WinTango Patcher\PatcherCPL.exe

I think they are false positives, don't you? Please, let me know.
Reply
:iconheebijeebi:
heebijeebi Featured By Owner Feb 24, 2015
yes its a false positive.

its because the patcher disables some redirections and allows itself to change protected files, which is neccessary to do the trick.

Nice, looking good :) Any chance you will bring back the classc list view? I mean the one that reduces the spaces between items? It was really great!

Somehow I missed out on the beta version.. cool with elementary icons too.. you're doing a great job, man.. even Win10 support coming/improving! Have you seen Microsofts Win10 icons they've presented? I've never been a fan of Wndows icons but good god, your patcher will seriously be nessesary when/if i make the switch to Win10!

Does it work with Windows 8.1 ?, cause it doesn`t seems to patch the tray icons, mine stays white.

it works. but the tray icons can't be patched for Win 8.1. if you do so the functions behind them wouldn't work properly anymore.

Oh and nother thing, heebi, wasn't there once a way to patch only applications? They tend to get updated so a faster way to update would be nice. I fear the reloader will reload items I dont want reloaded :/.. alot of system files I've modded further myself, etc.

in the past there were two seperate patchers, yes. I merged them to make things easier.

I'll have a look at implementing an option (via commandline switch) to just reload windows or the applications. Please be a bit more patient as I am currently reworking the whole thing ;)
